Caritas Ukraine social portal of employment assistance to IDPs “Career for new life” has moved to a new platform which offers a wider range of opportunities and advantages for employers and job seekers. During the upgrading, the experience of using the website by users was taken into account to introduce the most efficient improvements to the service. The project objective aims to facilitate the employment of IDPs with the help of a unified communication space for employers and IDPs in Ukraine.
The website started to operate in 2016. Over its operation, more than 3,500 IDPs and about 2,000 employers registered there and posted more than 1,500 vacancies.
“We have developed the website for assistance to IDPs who live outside cities where Caritas centers run their activities. We have contributed into this portal all our experience of employment assistance to IDPs. At present, we have moved to the new platform. We have refreshed the design, simplified the registration procedure and surfing though the website. We do believe it to help both employers to find new staff and job seekers to find a desired job”, says Nataliia Maliutina, Employment Project Coordinator, Caritas Kharkiv.
The unique feature of the project is that Caritas Ukraine is an expert in provision of employment assistance to IDPs and people affected by the military operations. The website contains a database of employers supportive to IDPs, all provided services are free.
The website consists of four main constituents: informational (news and projects data), service (placement and review of vacancies/CVs), educational (a blog with useful materials) and social (services from IDPs, volunteers, social projects).
As a part of employment projects, Caritas Ukraine except for “Career for new life” portal also provides grants for reskilling, business launch and development and employment grants.
